How the redaction is applied
A black box overwrites the pixels with solid black; pixelate averages them into coarse blocks. Both are burned into the image, so nothing survives underneath. The export is re-encoded at full resolution, which also strips the original EXIF and GPS data. Nothing is uploaded.
