How it works

  1. Add your PDFDrop it in or choose a file. It opens in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
  2. Pick pages & qualitySelect the pages you need and a resolution: Standard, High, or Very High.
  3. Download JPGsOne page downloads as a JPG; several pages come back together in a ZIP.

Why convert with RedactLocal?

Most “PDF to JPG” sites upload your document to a server to render it. If the PDF holds anything sensitive — a contract, a statement, an ID — that upload is an unnecessary risk. RedactLocal renders every page locally with the same engine browsers use to display PDFs, so the file never leaves your device. It also works offline once the page has loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Pages are rendered and converted to JPG locally in your browser. The PDF is not sent to RedactLocal.

Will the image quality be reduced?

You control it. Higher settings render each page at a greater pixel density, so text and lines stay crisp at normal viewing sizes. JPG is a compressed format, so very fine detail can soften slightly at lower settings — choose High or Very High for documents you’ll zoom into.

Why did multiple pages download as a ZIP?

A single page downloads as one JPG. When you convert several pages, they’re packaged into one ZIP (named per page, e.g. document-page-1.jpg) so you get everything in a single download.

Can it handle large PDFs?

Yes. Pages are processed one at a time and memory is released as it goes, so large documents convert without loading everything at once. Very large files simply take a little longer on your device.
