How it works

  1. Add your PDFDrop it in or choose a file. It opens in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
  2. Pick pages & resolutionSelect the pages you need and a resolution: Standard, High, or Very High.
  3. Download PNGsOne page downloads as a PNG; several pages come back together in a ZIP.

Why PNG, and why RedactLocal?

PNG is lossless, so text and thin lines stay razor-sharp — ideal for documents, screenshots, diagrams and anything you’ll crop or zoom into. Unlike most online converters, RedactLocal renders every page on your own device, so a sensitive PDF never travels to a server, and it keeps working even with your network off.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Pages are rendered and saved as PNG locally in your browser. The PDF is never sent to RedactLocal.

PNG or JPG — which should I pick?

PNG is lossless and crisp for text, line art and transparency; JPG produces smaller files for photographs. For document pages, PNG usually looks better. For smaller files, try PDF to JPG.

Why did several pages download as a ZIP?

A single page downloads as one PNG. When you convert multiple pages they’re bundled into one ZIP (named document-page-1.png and so on).
